Well what's it all about then?   To cut a long story short, it all started back in October 2002 when I decided to build a website based on an annual fishing match that we had held since 1999 at random fishing venues. After a brutal struggle and learning it all from scratch, the website appeared online on August 1st 2003.

The site, which is still dedicated to the fishing thing and continues to receive more and more entries to the event with each passing year, has actually grown much further than just this topic.

In fact, the fishingmatch.net site is now visited more for the other events and topics than the fishing match it was originally designed for.

There's always plenty going on including the karting grand prixs that take place 2 or 3 times a year, the football dream team which has been running strongly for over 6 years now, and the crazy Cadburys creme egg comp which has been going since 1998 and still continues to create incredible interest.

There's a lot more on the site including all the stats from these above events and literally hundreds of photos from all sorts of things from over the years gone by. The Party Nites section is a particular favourite featuring many people.

Their is an active guestbook on the site if you wish to leave any comments. There is also an email link at the bottom of this page if you wish to get in contact with any questions.

For the more active members amongst you there is also a chat forum on the homepage which usually sees anything up to 40-50 members logging in each week.

There is now a new video zone, along with all the latest news and upcoming events on the homepage which are updated regularly . Get in touch if you wish to join one of the events. There are various night outs arranged via the chat forum during the year.

In June / July 2008, the fishing match website was upgraded and redesigned over a period of 6 weeks, improving it for the better and hopefully now it is much easier to use than the old format.

A short film named Combat Warriors will also be released to acknowledge 5 years of fishingmatch.net on the very day [ Aug 1st ] it went online in 2003.
