HOW TO WIN THE PRIZES IN 2010/11
There is a prize pot of just over £2000 for the 2010/11 dream team. Never before has there been such a huge potful of money available to win and a record 59 teams are in battle for it.
There are not only prizes for finishing in the top positions....but there are also many prizes you can win for other things. For the first time....there will be table cash prizes to win during the second half of the season.

WINNER TO 15TH PLACE [ £525 - £5 ]
It goes without saying really...the more points you score during the season...the higher you finish up the table...and the more money you will win. The champion will win the golden trophy.
Neil 'Hoops' Slaughter is the current title holder.
WOODEN SPOON
The team that finishes bottom of the league will win the now famous wooden spoon. Your name and position will be engraved and plastered all over it....and then you'll have to pose for photos for this site to show everyone just what a bad season you've had! The dream team's most shocking honour to have...but at least it's a prize!
The current Wooden Spoon holder is Leigh Farrar from Bodmin.
BEST DEBUT MANAGER - £30
These are the managers that are entering for the first time or managers who are returning after an absence of 3 years or more. All new managers are highlighted in the list of managers at the back of your dream team squad booklet.
The highest finishing of the debutants wins £30. Of course, this particular manager could also have a double cash whammy if they can also get into the top 15. Potentially, a debut manager overall victory would result in a £555 cash bonanza to the winner.
Matthew May won the best debut manager prize last season by finishing 4/43.
SECOND BEST DEBUT MANAGER - £10
A new prize for this year for debutants, due to the huge number of new managers [ x17 ]
TEAM CONTAINING WORST PLAYER - £20
This one is always a popular prize and also one that could be won by literally anyone. It works like this.
The football player with the worst points total from the Sun newspapers list of players at the end of the season can win someone £20 as long as he is in your team! The player might score minus points for the season or could be in the plus points. The one golden rule for this prize is that the player cannot have a total of 0 points as their total...even if they have played a match. They must have plus OR minus points.
If you are lucky [ or unlucky enough maybe?! ] to have the worst scoring player in your team at the end of the season, and someone else does as well, the prize will be shared equally amongst you.
Richard West won this prize last season.
TEAM LEADING AT NEW YEAR - £20
This is the only prize that is paid out BEFORE the end of the season.
The first table of 2011 which will be emailed to you by 1st January 2011 will include all the points scored up to the very end of 2010.
The team who is top wins the money, and I will contact you to arrange payment within a week of the prize winner being known.
Previous winners of the prize were Matthew May last season and Simon Higgins in 2008/9.
RANDOM PRIZES
TEAM FINISHING IN 30TH OR 45TH PLACE
This prize is quite irrelevant until the closing stages of the season but proved very popular when I introduced it last season for the first time.
If you've had a bad season and your team is suffering towards the lower end of the table rather than the top half, then these prizes can suddenly give you a lift and some hope of winning something when all seemed lost. It's only 2 random prizes of £10, but it created lots of interest last season in the closing stages of 2009/10.
The money will be shared amongst managers if they end the season in those positions joint on the same points as another manager.
Janice Hawken won the Random prize during 2009/10.
CARPET REPS ONLY PRIZE - £10
Obviously as all may know, I work in a carpet shop, and this season there has been great interest from many carpet representatives who travel up and down the country trying to get us to buy their flooring.
7 of them have put their best foot forward for the comp this year and I'd like to thank them for supporting the league.
For this I have set aside £10 for the highest finishing carpet rep. The bragging rights will well and truly be up for grabs.
Only the MCD and Furlong Flooring reps jibbed out. Oh...and they are related.
TABLE PRIZES
A brand new prize set up for 2010/11 !
This kicks in after 2010 has finished. Every table after the new year, there will be £5 up for grabs for the tables highest points scorer of that 2 week period.
The money will be noted and put to one side, and paid out to you at the end of the season.
There is approximately £70 up for grabs with this prize so even teams with no hope of winning the main prizes have a chance of winning something.
THERE ARE 2 GOLDEN RULES FOR TABLE PRIZES THOUGH SO READ CAREFULLY BELOW
1.You will not win this prize if you haven't paid me your entry fee. Entry fee deadlines are Dec 31st 2010. If you win the prize and you haven't paid me, you will not win the prize and it will rollover to the next table for the chance for someone to win £10. If the same happens again, it will become £15 at the next table etc etc....
2. If the team with the highest scoring week is in 1st place, or has the highest scoring week and that puts them into 1st place...they will not win the prize !!! Basically, I'm trying to spread the money up through the league with this prize and if a team at the top is outscoring everyone else week after week then they are going to clean the pot out and this is what I am trying to avoid.
So please keep these 2 rules in mind.
PAYOUTS
Prizes will be paid out during the first week of June 2011.Long distance winners will get cheques, unless they want to collect in person from me. Local winners will be contacted by me and I shall meet up with you to pay you in cash.
Usually, the top few managers [ and in particular ] the winner will be asked for a photo of them and their pound notes for the website.
ENTRY MONEY
Every penny from your entry fees goes into the prize fund. I don't keep any for myself for running the comp, I do it because I enjoy it.
Any questions then email me anytime. Dreamteamhotline@aol.com
Good Luck for the forthcoming season.
